That doesn't change the fact that this quote is quite appropriate in the given context. When people don't know any better, they tend to do the strangest things, like voting for Bush. What those people need is forgiveness and an education, and since I'm in no position to provide the latter I must settle for forgiveness.

FROM and FOR.
